Aimer通算17枚目となるシングル。「Sun Dance」「Penny Rain」から間髪入れずにリリースされたデジタルシングル「STAND-ALONE」でも予感させた、Aimerの"夜の始まり"を宣言する今作。暗闇の中のかすかな希望を歌う表題曲「Torches」は7月よりNHK総合にて放送開始のTVアニメ『ヴィンランド・サガ』エンディングテーマに決定。トライバルサウンドともいえる要素を取り入れ、1stアルバム『Sleepless Nights』から3rdアルバム『DAWN』で紡いできた物語とは異なる、新たな夜の旅を感じさせる1曲となっている。
